On this day in history:
August 5th, 2002 | We didn’t know much about newcomer Victoria when she made her Raw debut against Trish Stratus, but she seemed like a good-natured competitor, especially when she started having issues with her knee. She gamely tried to continue with the match, but officials soon started to escort her from the ring, and Trish held the ropes open for her. Suddenly, Victoria took that bad left leg and kicked Trish with it, instantly revealing that she wasn’t to be trusted. She eventually defeated Trish using the ropes for leverage, and she and Molly Holly – who had been on commentary for the match – double-teamed her. Trish fought back, though, and emerged from the encounter the last Diva standing. Now, however, she had both Molly and the new Diva Victoria to contend with.
