On this day in history:
August 27th, 2000 | At 2000′s SummerSlam, the Intercontinental Title was defended in a Mixed Tag Team match. The stipulation went that if Chyna or Eddie Guerrero pinned champ Val Venis or his partner Trish Stratus, they would win the Intercontinental Title. Trish didn’t have much to gain from the situation, so she was understandably hesitant to enter the ring. She did try to clothesline Chyna at one point, though, only to be knocked down like she had run into a brick wall. Chyna then only had to press slam Trish and pin her to be crowned the new Intercontinental Champion.
