On this day in history:

April 7th, 2003 | After leaving WrestleMania 19 empty handed, Jazz sought to finally regain the Women’s Title when she took on new champ Trish Stratus. The match was short, but hard fought, leaving Trish with a bloody mouth. The ending was controversial, though, as Jazz clearly had her foot on the bottom rope while being pinned. Nonetheless, the win was awarded to Trish. Jazz was upset, but she wasn’t alone: later in the night, an outraged Teddy Long would offer Jazz his services as manager to prevent such an injustice from happening again. Teddy proved to be her good luck charm, as she would win back the Women’s Title at Backlash with him by her side.
